This bourbon is named after Parker Beam, who was the Master Distiller at Heaven Hill from 1975 to 2013. He selected the barrels of 1981 bourbon that were used for this release.
The nose of this whisky is rich and complex with notes of caramel, oak, vanilla, and dried fruits. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with flavors of dark chocolate, toffee, maple syrup, and a hint of smoke. The finish is long and warming, with a gentle spiciness and a touch of sweetness.
